I HATE running. I’ll be dead honest with all of you. I try to get myself to like it, I try to get myself to do it, and I just can’t get my mind mentally there.
I do love working out though. I just can’t go for a long run. I’ll never enjoy it. So that’s that.
+ I love the quickness of them, and the effectiveness.
+ Time FLIES by when you’re doing them.
+ You get your heart rate up, metabolism sky rocketing, and you sweat.
+ I’m not continuously waiting for it to be over or feel like I’m dragging along
I normally do my intervals on a treadmill. I have one in my house so it makes it super easy even when the weather is shitty – no excuses! I’ve done them outside as well when it’s nice out, but it’s harder to make sure I’m really doing the speed I want to be doing. Basically it’s easier to cheat. So I always stick to the treadmill.
If I’m in kind of a rush and I really want my workout to be quick then I’ll do straight running/jogging/walking on incline intervals.
If I want more of a workout, I’ll do intervals on the treadmill and then I’ll hop off and do my squats or push-ups and hop back on the treadmill the next minute. Either one is really great.
I GO BY MINUTES.
I always do 1 minute of something, then one minute of something else, etc. The speed is the number I hit on the treadmill. If you do it outside, obviously do sprints for the higher speeds.
MINUTE 1 – run speed 6
MINUTE 2 – Pushups ( I do 30 sec full, 30 sec knees )
MINUTE 3 – run speed 7
MINUTE 4 – plank
MINUTE 5 – run speed 7
MINUTE 6 – squats
MINUTE 7 – run speed 7
MINUTE 8 – scissor kicks
MINUTE 9 – run speed 6
MINUTE 10 – squat jumps
REPEAT ONE MORE TIME TO MAKE IT A 20 MINUTE WORKOUT
DONE. How quick and easy? AND I guarantee you aren’t wishing it was over while you’re doing it. It really flies by, I promise.
I do this workout atleast 3 times a week and I find it to be effective and I alwaysssssss feel good after.
Always open to tips and tricks from you guys!!!
