I know, I know – you know. Lemon water is good for you.
All of its nutrients and antibacterial benefits, mhmmm.
But let’s talk warm lemon water. Because what’s better than cold lemon water? WARM LEMON WATER.
The second I wake up I go to my kitchen, I get a mug of warm water, and I add two slices of lemon to it.
I don’t go one morning without warm lemon water ( unless I’m away and literally can’t get it someway somehow ). Then I’ll drink plain water instead. I just make sure I always drink a glass of water right when waking up. I started doing this about two years ago and I’ve become completely addicted. It was tough at first to be completely honest – it was almost hard to get down. Now it’s a routine.
I mean, your body is basically dehydrated when you wake up if you really think about you. You just went about 8 hours ( if you’re lucky ) without any type of fluid being put into your body.
So drinking water first thing in the morning is a huge yes.
I also never eat before I drink my glass of water – I used to eat right away because I thought I was starving. If you actually wait a minute and drink the water, you don’t feel hungry anymore. I’ll eat when I can feel myself become hungry after the water.
Warm water has amazing benefits with your blood flow & it’s great for digestion – that’s why I drink it the second I get up.
Add warm water benefits to lemon benefits and you’ve got a damn good wake up call.
It’s basically a mini cleanse to start your day. It’s flushing out toxins right away while making your metabolism killlller
You are rehydrating your body for the day
Helps with your digestive system
Vitamin C – strong immune systems & pretty skin!
Lemons contain pectin so you may feel fuller longer when you drink lemon water
Lemon water is clearly acidic, so it isn’t the best choice for your teeth.
I still drink it daily – I just don’t brush right away ( wait 30-60 minutes ) and I will usually rinse with plain water after drinking it.
I constantly use straws, so I always have one stuck in my lemon water.
If you don’t use them, try to avoid swishing it around your mouth when you’re drinking it.
Sometimes I’ll add apple cider vinegar to my lemon water in the AM, too. I’ll take all the health benefits I can get.
