Hey hey, babes
Some serious shit going down today.. abs.
Pretty much all of us want them. I think it’s human nature to want a great body. You see it all over Instagram, Facebook, whatever else.
I mean, that VS Fashion Show.. I see you Gigi, I see you.
I definitely catch myself feeling envious of girls with a solid six-pack on Instagram and what not.
But here’s the thing – it’s ok to not have abs.
I don’t say this lightly. It is seriously fucking ok to not have abs.
Don’t get me wrong – I absolutely love the girls that are proud of their bodies. I mean, you have the abs, why not flaunt them? I sure as hell would.
There are days when I just finished a workout and I’m like DAMN STRAIGHT take a pic of that stomach NOW, I see an ab coming through.
But, there are days where I’m feeling less like that and I don’t want anyone looking at my stomach.
Basically, I’ve seen ab’s show up more on some days and go away on bloated days.
I’m all about health, workouts, fitness tips, eating clean.. all of that. I live it daily. I try to workout almost every single day. It’s a lifestyle now.
And guess what? I don’t have solid abs.
And if I’m going on vacation where a bathing suit is packed in my suitcase, I’m preparing for that. I’m hardcore pushing myself for two weeks straight to make sure I’m not bloated and those abs are trying to surface somewhere.
I think that we, as humans ( or girls.. ), look at a picture of someone with abs and automatically put ourselves down.
We think right then and there that we should have those abs, too. And have them, like.. tomorrow.
LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT – YOU ARE WRONG IF YOU THINK THAT.
Now, I truly believe that anyone can have abs if they want to ( besides health issues & what not ).
If you put in the work, you will see results. But I also believe that people have different lifestyles. That people sometimes can’t get in as much workouts as others. And I think that’s ok. TRULY. It is ok.
BODY TYPES ARE DIFFERENT. How many of you have seen people eat like shit every day and they don’t gain a pound, like ever? Genetics. And, well, unfortunately.. we can’t change those damn things.
I gain and lose weight like it’s my day job. I rarely ever weigh myself due to this ( that’s just me ) because it drives me insane.
For instance – one time I did a three day cleanse. All I had was water, green smoothies, and more water. I woke up the second day looking 6 months pregnant. I actually started to cry because I was so frustrated that I haven’t been eating much and was that bloated. Literal tears.. coming down my face.. because of bloating. It completely went away the next day because it was just my body responding to the all-of-a-sudden-sky-rocket of fruits & veggies ( hiiii fiber ). But that’s how my body works. My body bloats. Super easily. That’s why I’m CRAZY about my tips for reducing bloat. ( If you’re signed up for my newsletter, you’ll understand. )
My mom did this cleanse with me – she didn’t feel bloated once.
The body is a very interesting thing. I see mine change all the time, depending on how I’m treating it.
I think it’s really important to be healthy and active, but I also think it’s really important to be realistic.
If you want abs, work for them. But realize that it is a process. It doesn’t happen overnight. If you want to really work at it, that’s amazing. It’s a great thing to work towards, truly. But PLEASE realize that it is ok if you don’t have them. ESPECIALLY while you are working at it.
I’ve been so frustrated before because I was eating clean and working out but seeing no results in my abs. I wasn’t giving my body enough time. I expected them like.. the night after I started working out. For real. I’d go home and be like why the hell isn’t there any lines on my stomach, I just did core excercies for the first time??? THEY DO NOT COME FAST. Give your body time & keep up with it. You will eventually see the results you are craving.
Those pictures you’re stalking on Instagram, they take a lot of hard work to develop, don’t be discouraged.
I workout. I eat clean. I stay fit.
I get bloated. I have good & bad days. My body flucuates.
Of course – love tips & tricks from you guys, always!
