I know, I’m a little late to the party.
BUT. As promised from the recap post, the turmeric golden milk (or tea) recipe is happening.
It’s totally worth the share – I’m obsessed.
If you read that post, you know I wasn’t really into the color/sight of the tea when I first saw it.
I also had no idea about the benefits of turmeric until it became a thing all over Instagram, thanks insta!
I read that it was great for swollen days and was very close to just swallowing turmeric from the bottle.
Opted out. Instead I tried the latest trend.. with a twist. Duh.
I try a lot of random things, like.. a lot. You can show me anything (gross looking or not) and tell me the benefits that tag along with it and I’m in. I’ll always, always try something.
But I’ll be honest about it. If I hate it, I’m telling you.
Like avocado milk. (Sorry Kourt K. I love you.. just not your drink.)
Have you guys tried her morning ritual drink? I thought I was going to love it..
Anyway. This turmeric tea is delicious. I love love love tea in general, and this one has major benefits!
Instead of just turmeric, almond milk, syrup/honey, and cayenne.. I added some extra’s for a real benefit booster of a drink.FUN FACT: turmeric has a rough time making it past the stomach.. WHAT. I had no idea. So pepper/fats ( coconut oil, avocado, etc. ) help to better absorb the spice! I added coconut oil to the drink since I take a tablespoon a day anyway.
+ 2 cups almond milk
+ 1 tsp honey
+ 1 tsp turmeric
+ fresh ginger (3 slices)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
+ 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
+ 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
+ few pinches of cayenne pepper
+ nausea relief
+ heartburn relief
+ brain function
+ boost metabolism
+ chop up the ginger into slices
+ put everything into a blender (I use my NutriBullet)
+ put it on the stove, lowest heat for about 3 minutes, maybe? depends on how hot you like it
I’m drinking it allll the time right now.
I’m loving the added ingredients, too. Ginger is my go-to. I eat it all.the.time. And the vanilla extract is a win-win.
Let me know what you guys think. Love it, hate it, or if you put a twist on it!
