Can we discuss this moon juice obsession?
I’m going to be very, VERY honest with you guys – I thought moon juice was a fad. Like, a super blown up fad.
You’ve probably seen these cute containers all over instagram. Am I right? That’s where I discovered them, at least. And honestly, I was completely drawn in just by the looks. BUT I never bought anything.
I wasn’t hesitant.. I just thought it was one of those things everyone was doing and wasting money on. I never really read about the dusts, or why the creator came up with them. I just figured it was a made up powder in cute containers telling people that their skin will be glowing soon and I kind of let it blow by me without researching.
I caved. The book really caught my attention. It isn’t your average ‘cookbook’.. it gets way deeper than just recipes. And I am crazy into things that have an explanation with details telling me who, what, when, where, and why. I’m really picky and nosey. I NEED details, like WHY. ( my poor boyfriend. )
Amanda explains EVERYTHING. She makes you feel like you’re there with her on her journey. Which I LOVE.
I never want to read something and feel like I can’t hear the author. I hate nothing more than feeling lost while reading.. or distant. I want to feel close to the writer, like I’m there. That’s part of the reason why I started blogging. I have such a passion to feel close to my readers. I write how I talk, and I feel like that’s huge when connecting to people on some level. I really hope you feel that when you leave Champagne In Church.. connected.
SO, YOU GUESSED IT. Amanda nailed it. 110%. She wrote to the point where I was actually talking out loud after reading some of her words being like.. “oh my god, SAME girl.”
And not to mention, her story is just amazing.
The first sentence I read when I opened the book was page 9 of the introduction – “Food can be powerful medicine, and no one has experienced its effects more dramatically than I have.”
Right there. I needed to know more. That one sentence completely drew me in with a million and ten questions. And don’t worry, she answers them all.
She brings you along on her journey of struggling with being sick all the time, and changing her diet to literally use food as medicine. She even gets down and dirty with medicinal whole foods that help anxiety and depression, which I think we can all benefit from.
She really knows her shit. She gives an explanation of all the foods she believes in, how they benefit the body, etc. It’s not a book where you have to leave the page to go google something about it. No. Not at all. She has everything right there for you.
Her shit is real. Like, really real. I won’t explain the entire book to you in a blog post, but I highly suggest you get it. I truly, 110%, believe that people can benefit from reading about Amanda’s story and how, basically, food is so much more than we think. The energy, health, and the good of your own body can be benefited by what you are putting in it.
That’s honestly why I’m writing this. I only write about things I feel really fucking passionate about. Not to throw bullshit out there in your face. Just pure passion.
If you’ve been reading CIC this month, you know I’m not into diets. I’m just always looking to improve myself and my well being.
The phobia and anxiety journey post explains a lot about how I ate like shit in college. Well, didn’t really eat at all. And I was always, I mean always, sick. I had a cough for 3 to 4 months one year. I just never put it together that I needed to change my diet because I was so stuck in such a rut. ( go read the post for more details – eat when you’re hungry! )
I also have insane allergies and always get colds/coughs, etc. The spring is basically the death of me. And again, I never once thought to change my diet in order to improve these issues.
After reading Amanda’s story and her book, I’m SO beyond ready to delete those issues from my life. I can NOT wait to see how much my health and well-being improve.
Even my anxiety. Let’s just open our throats and straight up pour anything that’s good for anxiety down there, no? LOL just kidding..
But, that’s just me. You do you. I’m just throwing out ideas.
I suggest this way because you learn so much from her that you’ll know exactly what products you want to buy. It can be overwhelming going onto a website with all these great, healthy products to get. You kind of feel lost? Like where do you start.
Start with reading. You’ll learn what will be best for you and your body, what you should order, and especially WHY you’re ordering it.
I’ve been making certain smoothies with The Moon Juice products in them.
I’m actually just about to get off my ass and go make a post-workout one. I worked out about 4 hours ago so.. a little late to the game. What else is new?
We’ll chat later this week about which products I’m using and how they are working for me and my body, sound good? Also – have you guys changed your eating habits to improve anything similar to what I said ( coughs, allergies, etc. ) ? I would LOVE to know!
