Currently drinking turmeric tea and watching the housewives..
The first thing I do when I wake up is drink a glass of water.. then make my coffee.
BUT – lately I’ve been feeling super jittery on it. I would get to work and start feeling kind of, off?
Uhhhh.. no, no. That can’t be a thing.
I don’t put anything in my coffee.. no creamer, no almond milk.. nothing, nada. & I honestly LOVE it without anything in it. I trained myself to be like that in college so I wouldn’t get any extra cals throughout the day because I was drinking so much coffee then. ANYWAY – I noticed recently that I was drinking my entire cup of coffee with noooothing in it before I even left the door.
WOAH. Where’s the fire?
Like.. slow down!
I used to bring it with me on-the-go so I would be sipping it throughout my morning & I NEEDED to get back into this routine ASAP – the jitters were so not worth it. Not my type of feels. NO thanks.
I hate feeling out of my own body – like when you’re hungover. Holy hell. I can’t stand feeling like I have no control over myself. THE.ANXIETY. (ugh).
That’s kind of what the whole ‘chugging a coffee in less than two minutes’ thing was doing to me.
I figured it out, don’t worry. AND better than that.. I made a bomb ass protein coffee drink that you’ll die over if you’re obsessed with coffee like me (dramaaaa).
You also know by now that I’m hooked on smoothies. & I prepare them the night before so I can get up and go without thinking about it. (Check prepping and planning without going batshit for more deets.) Huge game changer.
WELL. GUESS WHAT? EINSTEIN OVER HERE – I mixed my protein powder with my coffee (and some other goods) to make it a smoothie. DUH DUH DUH. I mean, I know people do it – but like SHIT, it’s good.
Plus, adding natural fats and proteins to your coffee will actually help with jitters by balancing your blood sugar and energy levels! TA-DA.

+ HANDFUL OF ICE CUBES
+ HALF A CUP OF COFFEE (OR THE WHOLE CUP) I USE THE KEURIG LARGE CUP OPTION AND USE IT ALL..
+ 1/2 CUP OF ALMOND OR CASHEW MILK
+ 1 TBSP OF COCONUT OIL
+ SPOONFUL OF MACA POWDER
PUT IT ALL IN THE BLENDER AND.. BLEND!
I have noticed a HUGE difference in my caffeine shakes after switching from straight coffee to this.
I still obsess over plain coffee so & if I am just drinking coffee with no extra goodies, I’m eating with it and sipping it. The chugging just.. got me no where.
You can obviously add some extra love, too – mix it up or put a twist on it. You do you! I just like the basics to keep it super simple, beneficial, and tasty.
