Happy Thursday pretty babes!
Let’s talk fitness today, uh huuuuh.
I feel like we need to since well, one.. it’s almost summer (hi). And two, I’ve been super into trying new classes plus at home workouts that aren’t my usual my go-to.
A new workout really wakes you up. Don’t you think?
I don’t know, I could be wrong.. but I definitely don’t like to put all my eggs in one basket when it comes to working out.
I obsess over barre classes. I’ll never stop doing them. But I still like to give other things a shot even if I’m doing those a few times a week. VARIETY. Spice things up!
Something I’ve been really into lately is at home workouts.
Now, you should know, I’m CRAZY about going to some sort of workout class.
I love the vibe. You can completely zone out with the teacher really focusing in on you. But, like everyone, a busy schedule can get in the way of that sometimes.
And if I’ve noticed anything about working out at home, it’s that it can be realllllly difficult to get motivated for.
I keep a yoga mat (this one is to die for) in one of the rooms at my apartment. Always laid out. So, that way it becomes my workout area.
And, well.. there are days when I struggle to get myself on the mat. Then when I finally do get myself on the mat, I sit there on my phone checking emails or something (huge sigh).
You know how it goes.
K, SO – how the hell do you get yourself motivated to workout? I’ve got you covered. Don’t you worry little thing!
+ get cute workout clothes. i know this sounds dumb but it actually works. i’m always ten times more motivated to workout once i have a new outfit i’m really into!
+ make sure your sports bra fits right – a bra that is to small is horrible. fitting it right really makes all the difference. comfort!
+ make a time to do it and set an alarm for it. if you don’t you’ll just put it off all day long. once you have a schedule going, you’re going to feel way more comfortable and in a routine to just get it done.
+ make it something you look forward to.. & by this i mean do workouts you actually like. even if that means dancing in your living room for 30 minutes to break a sweat. you’ll end up doing it daily if you love it!
+ don’t make workouts a long ass thing. they can be short and sweet, with some HIIT to get your body working good.
+ stop comparing yourself to other people on social media. you’re probably looking at someone who has been working out 3 hours every day for 5 years straight. you know, a major fitness person. i totally envy them sometimes. BUT – that isn’t for everyone. when you sit there and compare your workout and body to theirs, you put yourself down. agreed? instead, take pictures of your own body and compare YOURSELF to YOURSELF. it’s better on the mind, i promise. once i stopped doing this i actually got into a workout groove and felt better about myself.
I need to recap on the bra situation. If you follow on snap you saw the other day that I’m all about a good fitting sports bra.
I have gotten bra’s that were too small and it made my workouts HORRIBLE. Sounds dramatic.. but I’m so serious I SWEAR. I was so uncomfortable and always fixing and pulling at it.. completely took away from my workout.
It can be tough for my big boobied girls out there, I totally get it. I’m going to do a post on my favorite sports bra’s soon, but for now.. take this one and run with it.
How are you guys getting motivated? Let a girl know!
