I’m stoked to share a really cool q&a with you guys! It’s with two of my favorite bloggers – Brittany & Rylie from HOUSE OF PRESERVATION.
I go to their site for just about everything on major skin, hair, and wellness topics – like how the hell to get your eyebrows just right.
They talk about a lottttt of good stuff over there & I’m always craving new tips – plus sharing it with you guys is what I’m all about, duh!
So, naturally, I chatted with them to get the scoop on some major topics. & you guys can stalk it.
Happy reading, babes.
[ let’s jump right into it, what is house of preservation? ]
HOP is a blog created by aestheticians to educate like-minded skincare junkies who are looking for more than just a positive review on a product and want a deeper understanding of how the skin works.
[ your tips & tricks are amazing, let’s just be honest. are they tips that you make your lifestyle or just one time things? ]
Thank you, babe!! Absolutely. We’re all about consistency. All of our tips & tricks have been tested and approved over a period of time and are staples we swear by.
[ so are you guys using all organic products? ]
While we love organic products and use them in our regime, we’re not afraid of combining them with some science.
[ i’m intrigued by how flawless BOTH your faces always looks – how did you guys get into major skin care regimen? ]
You’re making us blush! Thank you. Rylie’s been obsessed since she was a teen, investing in skincare products since before she could drive. I (Brittany) became more intrigued in my 20’s when I started having more problematic skin. We both share a love of product knowledge and are constantly researching different ingredients and methods that will help improve and preserve our skin.
[ what are your all time, number one, absolute go-to tips for taking care of the skin on your face? face steaming, humidifier, lotion, whatever. we all struggle with some area on there! ]
[ how about a dewy look, any tips? ]
Your skin needs to be hydrated in order to appear dewy and facial oils are key. Also, using a good highlighter is crucial step when applying your makeup. Almost all of our makeup tutorials are focused on achieving a natural, radiant glow. Here’s one.
[ can we quickly talk about eyebrows.. you both have brows that are to die for. any tips on making eyebrows look a little fuller? ]
First of all, that is the nicest thing you could say to us. We take our brows very seriously. Our biggest tip- don’t touch them ! We did a post on how to grow your brows here.
[ are you into eating well for the skin as well? i know when i go off the deep end in cheat days it shows on my skin. what are your thoughts? ]
We also avoid alcohol and diary as often as possible as alcohol dehydrates the skin and dairy can trigger breakouts.
[ lastly, i have to ask – are you into supplements for you hair and skin? i’m seeing major topics on this. thoughts? ]
We’re all for it. Our favorite supplements we have on rotation are vitamin C, biotin (vitamin B7 or vitamin H) and niacin (vitamin B3). You can read more tips we use for hair growth here.
I know, right?
I mean, as you can see.. the tips are things you could use daily. Which I’m allll about. I love a good routine.
They are also VERY real.. & that’s always huge.
OK OK my babes, happy friday!
