I switched to goat milk soap from just regular store bought soaps about two months ago.
AND I AM ADDICTED.
If you are a CIC reader, you know I’m crazy about my skin (more on that here).
So, switching to an all-natural soap was something I was really looking forward to. I was like, excited..
(it’s the little things in life)
I eat goat cheese and drink goat milk kefir because it is supposably very similar to human milk. Basically, I felt bloated and inflamed when I had dairy – more so from a cow. So I switched to goat milk because, unfortunately, I LOVE cheese.
The protein A1 casein in cows milk is known to cause inflammation in some people. Little did I know, this protein can cause more issues than I thought. It can even make acne worse and cause eczema on your skin. UH, OK.
Goat milk only contains A2 casein, which doesn’t produce those inflammatory issues. THANK YOU, GOATS.
Read all about that here! (Very, very interesting. I promise.)
Anyway, my mom was trying goat milk soap for eczema. I actually have never looked into the soap, but being the sketchy detailed stalker that I am, I went full force into researching goat milk soap once she told me she was using it. I felt left out.
You would have thought I was doing a college research paper – no lie. I was ass deep into articles and information about goats milk. Like, WHY is a goats liquid good for me? Please do explain. Who, what, when, where, and why. Always.
So don’t worry, I’ve got you covered with details.
+ goat milk contains alpha-hydroxy acids, which help to break down dead skin cells
+ it is anti-inflammatory and moisturizes skin
+ helps with acne
+ especially beneficial for dry skin
+ eczema and psoriasis benefits
(find more info on all that here)
(Remember Kim Kardashian stole Kourtney’s breast milk for her psoriasis? LOL. Milks similar in protein!!!)
Here’s what changed when I started using JUST goat milk soap.
& yes, strictly goat milk soap. No other washes or scrubs. Which was hard because I LOVE coffee bean scrub – but I really wanted to see the effects of the soap.
The only other thing I used on my skin during this was face oils at night to wash my makeup off. (The best make-up remover you will ever get your paws on is jojoba oil. If you are going to trust me on anything, trust me on that.)
+ MY SKIN IS SMOOTHER & SOFTER ALL OVER
When I say my skin was smoother and softer all over, I mean it with everything I have inside of me. Like, my skin was literally smoother from head to toe.
+ MY FACE FEELS MORE VIBRANT AND CLEANER
My face has felt more alive, you know? I get super inflamed, so I think the benefits of goat milk with inflammation is helping me.
+ IT HAS HELPED WITH MY DRY SKIN
I have super dry skin on my thighs, I have no idea why. It’s kind of annoying. Sometimes I will get little bumps there from it, so it’s something I have tried to fix. (Coffee bean scrub has also helped me with this in the past!) The goat milk soap reallllly improved this area for me. Which is a huge game changer.
+ I HAVEN’T BROKEN OUT SINCE USING THE SOAP
I never had acne issues so I hate to give advice on acne when I don’t really know since I never dealt with it? But I still breakout from time to time, obviously! Since I have been using goat milk soap, I haven’t had one pimple. I mean, I’m not saying it’s going to cure all acne, but I’ve definitely felt a difference with breakouts.
Have you guys used this before?
Let me know your details!
I find my soap at Whole Foods and I’ve also ordered this kind.
xx talk later, babes
