I’ve always had this weird thing with smells – too much of anything puts me over the edge.
I was about 10 years old, walking through Yankee Candle in the mall (my mom loves that place – gah), when I felt the urge to run out of the store. My mouth started to water, gag reflux started to come in hot.
I’m going to throw up.
Luckily, I wasn’t a shopping addict back then, so I left the store just in time.
It’s not that I don’t like candles, because I have about ten in my kitchen right now. I love them, actually. They are one of my favorite things. But put a million candles with numerous different smells into one small space and I’m tapping out – it’s all over, I’m done.
Same goes for perfume. Too much on one tiny soul just doesn’t do it for me. Heightened sense of smell, I guess.
But I do love a good perfume. A light, airy one, if you will.
I was shopping for …nothing… in Urban Outfitters one day (that’s the addict coming out) and I came across perfumes that caught my attention due to these cute, petite bottles filled with the perfect colors. So, naturally, I started smelling – being very cautious of the overload scent that may come shooting at me and cause my stomach to turn.
I needed them all. Again, shopping addiction. I only needed one, so I got two.
$18 each? Count me in. A perfume I like for a price I love. Coconut, for summer vibes, and matcha, because matcha.
The matcha one has become my automatic grab on most days. I make that easy by displaying it on a shelf in my bathroom next to the jojoba face oil because the color is just flawless. It’s super light, so you don’t smell over the top. Not too much, not too little.
And no – you don’t actually smell like an iced matcha green tea from Starbucks, don’t worry.
My perfect perfume for the person who can’t stand smells – let me know what you think!
You can find the perfume here: Gourmand EDP Fragrance at Urban Outfitters.
P.S. here’s the jojoba oil I can’t live without.
