I’m all about simple things. Many of the times, less is more for me. I talk about it more here – slowing down and simplifying life, basically. I just love the thought of simplicity in every aspect of life and as hard as it is to always be simple, it makes things so much easier. Outfits, makeup, fashion, design, pillows, throws, rugs, anything. It’s always easier when you go simpler.
You can make the teeniest, tiniest apartment absolutely stunning with simple designing and decorating, trust me. Less is more, less is more.
This is how I am when I’m picking my outfits. I will do the random process of throwing my clothes onto the floor, on the verge of tears, saying I have nothing to wear and everything is so typical. Then, after trying on every single piece of clothing, I go back to my comfort zone. My so typical outfits. The simple ones. Always.
Summer is my favorite for many reasons, a top one being that outfits are so much easier to create. Shorts and a tank top/t-shirt, usually braless. It’s one of the best ways to figure out outfits – less clothing. Literally.
I am a true believer in dressing up any outfit with some layered necklaces or earrings that pop – the simple act of adding jewelry! Especially in the summer when outfits are light and minimal, it just adds the perfect touch with hardly any effort. Let your hair go natural, add some SPF, go braless with some necklaces and call it a day. Yes, I’m lazy.
I find most of my jewelry at Urban Outfitters, Free People, Nordstrom, and then random shops I walk into that I’ve never been to before. The best ones are random finds, as always, right? I then take random necklaces I have and I layer them, or wear them alone. Literally whatever floats your boat. Layering is a favorite for me and also easy because I have a few different sized necklaces, so I just mix and match. That way, I don’t feel like I’m wearing the same thing over and over again.
The top necklace and earrings pictured are from Wild & Free by MK Byrne. She hand-makes everything in her shop, which is why I’m so obsessed. I love things that have a story and are made by people using their hands – as you may know by now, I’m super hands on. There is something about the realness put into those kind of pieces.
This post is in collaboration with Wild & Free through IMBoston. As always, thoughts and words are my own.
